2017 – X50 Gaming Keyboard

The X50 mechanical gaming keyboard was developed as the successor to the X40 keyboard, and represents the evolution of Das Keyboard’s gaming line. Our primary goals were to develop a professional-level gaming product that was slimmer, streamlined, faster, and more refined. The X50 introduced new Gamma Zulu mechanical key switches developed by Omron, a leader in the electronics switch industry. Gamma Zulu switches offer a more stable mounting platform for each individual keycap, along with soft tactility and shallow activation for additional speed.

The populated keyboard housing is bolted to a thick aluminum top plate with exposed hardware. The top plate is bent at the front and rear for additional rigidity. A robust palm rest optionally attaches to the front of the X50 with pivoting connection points that accommodate flat and tilted keyboard angles. The X50 is finished in a stealth black anodization to let the vivid RGB lighting serve as the user’s focal point. Additional RGB lights illuminate the volume knob, and light bars integrated into the sides of the keyboard cast color onto the desk surface. All of these lights are individually addressable and programmable by a companion desktop application to serve as status indicators for limitless triggers and events.
