The X40 professional gaming mechanical keyboard was designed for the most demanding of users. Building on the successful Das Keyboard 4 design paradigm, the X40 features a rigid aluminum top panel above mechanical key switches mounted to an internal steel chassis, all contained within a sleek low-profile housing. The result is a bomb-proof yet ultra-thin keyboard with switches that feel solid and give immediate tactile feedback. Careful consideration was given to the layout and size of the key cap text and symbols in order to best utilize the red LED light in each key switch.

We designed the keyboard’s top panel to be removable via low-profile hex bolts. This lets the user easily customize their keyboard with different designs and adds to its aggressive aesthetic. The removable top cover also makes periodic cleaning easy.
