ShowerSMART Adjustable Shower Caddy – 2025
We worked with Inspired Products to expand their line of home organization products with the development of the ShowerSMART shower caddy. Our industrial design efforts focused on customers, providing an intuitive and flexible storage system with purposeful features and versatile mounting. Our engineering and design–for-manufacture expertise delivered a robust structure in a modern profile, while optimizing packed volume for shipping and distribution efficiency.
ShowerSMART was designed to blend into the modern bathroom environment with simple forms and clean surfaces, while maximizing storage and organization for customers. Storage bins are sized to accommodate a full range of container sizes, while magnetically mounted hooks are freely positioned to hold razors, brushes, and loofas. Fasteners are easily accessible during assembly and installation but are hidden from view once installed.
The mounting and assembly strategies for ShowerSMART needed to handle heavy weights with unknown distributions, in a challenging environment where safety is a high priority. At the same time, assembly needed to be simple and confidence-inspiring for the customer. We engineered connection, adjustment, and mounting features that combine robust mechanical security with tool-less user assembly. These parts were designed for efficient manufacture through injection molding, sheet metal, and wire forming production methods.
Inspired Products is an online-first brand, so the logistics behind ecommerce distribution influence development strategy from the start. We designed ShowerSMART to ship in as small a package as possible. This takes costs out of storage and shipping, freeing those financial resources to go toward more impactful aspects of the product experience.
