Prism Dock
A balance of form and function, the Prism Dock is a statement piece for the desk that elevates and charges the phone. With a single slice of a hexagonal prism, the dock achieves an array of angles to bring the phone screen into view. Geometric simplicity is contrasted by bold colors and expressive texturing. The top half rotates smoothly to customize the screen presentation angle, and detents lock at 0, 32, and 45 degrees of tilt.
We designed the Prism Dock as a passion project that utilizes our in-house 3D printing capabilities. Each part was engineered with the strengths and weakness of the printing process and materials as key constraints. The parts are easy to print, with minimal support material waste. The assembly is lean, creating a refined tactile experience with few, efficiently designed parts.
